He was born in 1845 and settled in Tacoma where he established several banks in the area including the National Bank of Tacoma, the Capital National Bank of Olympia, and the Bellingham Bay National Bank. This water and light electricity receipt was for his residence at 23 St. Helens Avenue. At that time, telephone numbers were as seen- this one for the utility company being Main 368.The invoice size is 5 3/8" by 2 5/8", and it's in used condition with wear, staple pinholes and discoloring as seen in the photos.
