Description: Here we have a 1998 Specialized Stumpjumper M2 in the beautiful and rare Mango colorway. Overall this frame is among the nicer I have had to rehome recently, with really only one cosmetic issue worth noting - some paint is flaking on the drive side chainstay apparently initiated by some chain suck. See the photos and videos! Taking a look at the REST of the frame, it's clear this bike was treated well, but yes, also enjoyed! There are actually very few of the usual marks, nicks and scrapes - just some storage damage to the decals really. No major dings or dents. The finish is bright and vibrant! The underside of the downtube is in very good condition, offering evidence the bike was never really ridden that hard. The chainstay has its share of marks but has held up remarkably well. The bottom bracket shell has been cleaned ("tinfoiling" is the technique I use, Google it if you're unfamiliar). The removable dropout is in good condition. I see no signs a kickstand was ever installed. The frame takes a 30.9 mm seat post, and I may still have the Ritchey one that was on the bike originally, please see my other listings. 135 mm rear spacing, of course, and the top tube measures 23.5" or so. This was sold as a 19" frame, as can be confirmed by the stamping on the inside of the right dropout. That said, I measure it to actually be 20.5" from the center of the BB axle to the top of the seat tube. These old bikes vary so much with geometry and dimensions! Everything is straight and solid. It's ready for you to give a little love - and build up! Finally, for a better understanding of the bike's overall condition, PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO ABOVE and see the MANY PHOTOS I HAVE INCLUDED BELOW, RIGHT IN THE LISTING, IN ADDITION TO THE 24 THAT EBAY NOW ALLOWS! I want you to know what you're getting! "WILL THIS BIKE FIT ME?" Please refer to the LAST IMAGE in the set above, it's a handy chart I found on the excitebikes.com website. It provides some information to help you decide if this frame is right for you. Bike fit is unique to each rider, and so this information is provided as a guideline only. Please consult a local bike shop before purchasing if you are unsure! About the shipping: please know, I do not mark up shipping, I charge whatever eBay's system tells me. The cost to get it to you is a function of two things: 1) the size of the box I have available to ship it, and 2) your distance from New Jersey. Thanks for understanding! That about does it. If by chance you need any components to complete your build, please let me know. If you have questions about the frame, please ask before bidding. ZERO FEEDBACK BIDDERS - welcome to eBay! I'd love to provide your first positive rating. Just message me before bidding, mmmmmm-kay? Thanks! Item sold used "as is". No warranties, implied or otherwise. Auction winner assumes all liabilities and must be based in the USA - no international buyers. Sorry but I cannot ship this frame outside the continental USA, and I will not ship to a freight forwarder either. Why? Because eBay says that I no longer have any seller protections if a freight forwarder is utilized. Thanks for understanding! I take great pride in the way I pack frames for shipment. I have to use new cardboard boxes from Amazon ($8-$12 each) because my local bike shops can't always provide me with boxes in the sizes I need. Smaller frames ship with forks removed (if present), rear triangle blocked with wood, and lots, lots, LOTS of crumpled up newspaper to ensure the frame doesn't move around inside. Larger frames also ship with the rear triangle blocked with wood, and with any fork still attached. I use cardboard bracing in several key spots (front and rear brake bosses, bottom bracket, rear dropouts) along with heavy-duty zip ties to ensure the frame does not move around once the box is closed. The process is tedious but the results are worth it, as my past customers will attest! Finally, Check my feedback and bid with confidence. I ship *FAST* and don't sell JUNK!TERMS AND CONDITIONS: By placing a bid or using buy it now the buyer agrees to the following terms and conditions: Every effort has been made by the seller to inspect, photograph and accurately describe this item's condition, however all items are sold AS-IS.
