2010 UPPER DECK 20TH ANNIVERSARY BUYBACK 1990 #225 OZZIE SMITH SSP EST 1-3 MADE

Description: What a cool card! For the un-initiated: in 2009 Upper Deck released 20th Anniversary Buybacks of their iconic 1989 Upper Deck set. While not serial numbered they were incredibly tough and believed to be limited to just 20 of each made. For 2010 Upper Deck had planned to do a similar release for the 1990 Upper Deck set, but due to their MLB license expiring, they were unable to sell them. But then! In 2012 a complete set of these surfaced with the exact same UD printed 20th Anniversary logo. These were NOT supposed to be released, but 1 (or perhaps up to 3) were likely printed by UD in advance and were just never inserted into packs. A really cool history - and for the player collectors out there very likely one that you do not have!
