Anthony Perkins was an American actor, director, singer, and writer. He is best known for his role as Norman Bates in Psycho and its three sequels. He also starred in Friendly Persuasion and Fear Strikes Out. He was nominated for a Golden Globe and an Academy Award for his role in Friendly Persuasion (1956). Films include Psycho (1960), Psycho II (1983), Psycho III (1986), The Trial (1962), Psycho IV: The Beginning (1990), Hitchcock (2012), Friendly Persuasion (1956), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), On the Beach (1959), Crimes of Passion (1984), The Tin Star (1957), Goodbye Again (1961), Mahogany (1975), Green Mansions (1959), and others. He was active from 1958 to 1982 and won 31 career singles titles, of those toward the end of his career included 6 Grand Prix tour singles titles and 10 double titles.
