Description: Antique American Federal Hepplewhite Mahogany Extending Dining Table Circa 1790 A New England Federal period mahogany three part extending dining table, circa 1790. These tables are VERY hard to find with their original 'D' ends intact, and this table has both it's original 'D' ends. With a gorgeous solid mahogany top, molded details, and square tapering legs ending in spade feet. It is simple and elegant, a hallmark of the Hepplewhite style of the later 18th century. The table is 28" high by 44 1/2" wide. With the leaves down and no 'D' ends in place it is 24" long by 44 1/2" wide. Each drop leaf is 19" long. The two 'D' ends are 18 1/2" long. Total length when fully extended with the 'D' ends in place is approx. 98", just over 8 feet long by 44 1/2" wide. In very good condition overall. It has an older re-finish and all the leaves match, which is uncommon. There is a gouge out of one leg, please see photo close-up. One of the drop leaves has a split. Guaranteed to be as described.
