The cinnabar is a deeply saturated red with a light patina that only comes from age. The setting is 10k gold-plate over sterling silver. There is minimal loss of the plating. The clasp is an early safety catch that helps date this brooch to 1900- 1910. It measures 1.25" x 1". It's in good antique condition with light wear.
