Description: Fabulous antique Dugan art glass vase: - Triple-pinched rose bowl vase form - Uranium glass glows brightly under UV light - Iridized & covered in frit (small pieces of glass), creating extra sparkle & glow - Approx. 4.5” tall - Either from Dugan’s Venetian or Japanese glass line (I’ve seen referred to as both in Dugan marketing materials!) • Production of these lines began 1905-1906 • Pieces were blown into a mold, rolled in frit & shaped by hand, many w/ fire polished irregular rims • Emphasizes roughness & sense of imperfection, revealing process & craftsman’s hand - Art Nouveau aesthetic characterized by concept of organic form: glass is pinched, twisted, stretched & distorted. Rather than being etched, cut or painted, surfaces come alive w/ pattern & texture - In great used, antique shape with no cracks, chips or repairs. There is one bubble in base (see photos), but it is completely within glass/unpopped. Please enlarge & examine photos as item’s best representations to determine design, size, color (appearance of which varies by monitor/screen & lighting) & condition by your standards & ask any questions you may have prior to purchase - Photos are unaltered/have no filters; vase shown outside in natural light, inside in fluorescent light & under UV light (365) - Matching Uranium frit-covered Dugan double-twist, pinched 6.5” vase also available in separate listing
