Description: This is an impressive genuine antique hand-painted wall display bracket. I think this might be from the 1920s England, and it was intended to be in an Egyptian style which was fashionable at that time. However, this is just a guess and I am not sure. I did ask on an antiques forum, and someone pointed out that the "palmettes" pattern (the second row from the top) are seen a lot in religious (inspired) architecture of the late 19th-early 20th century. However, I think this motif may have been used to evoke ancient Egypt. Some dimensions of the bracket are given in the last image. The hole to hang the bracket is quite small, and so you would perhaps need to use a nail and not a standard picture hanging hook. There are some imperfections/damage to this item, including . So, please view the images and read the condition description (seller notes) to get a good idea of the condition of this eye bracket. Many thanks. This paragraph is a copy of the condition description (seller notes) for the benefit of those using the eBay mobile app: "There is a crack to the top part of the bracket for wall mounting; see images 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16. It looks like thee is some damage at the bottom of the bracket; in particular, it seems that there is some loss to the tip of the bracket; see images 9, 10, 11 and the fifth-from-last and fourth-from-last images. This tip was probably more pointed in shape. There is quite a lot of areas of paint loss which can be seen in many of the images, particularly to the blue paint; see images 5 and 6. The back of the bracket is lined with a paper layer, and there has been some losses to this paper at the edges; see images 15, 17, 18, and 19."
