Description: 100% Original. Willow Shaft Blackfeet Tribe Backrest, Used in the Lodge. Made of seasoned Willow rods laced together with sinew and a row of cotton string down the center. Edged in blue stroud cloth. Blackfeet style bead work on the top piece. Possibly a child's because of its smaller size. The blue stroud cloth is pulled over both ends of the willow rods and sewn down. This looks like it has been in place for many years. The same thread is used throughout. Included with it is the tripod shown. I made the tripod ca. 1990's. Really adds to its displayability. Bark is left on and carved in period designs. Nice and dry and shows really well with the backrest. I purchased the back rest in Nov 1992 in Denver, CO. at a Dennis Eros Auction. It has been in my collection ever since. Super nice display piece.
