After completion of Bonneville Dam the resulting rise of the water level covered the Cascades of the Columbia rapids. The North Bridge Abutment (Washington State side) is constructed for the Bridge of the Gods, it is a steel truss cantilever bridge that spans the Columbia River between Cascade Locks, Oregon, and Washington state near North Bonneville.
