Description: Auction description France 19th century: The Country Bagpiper and his Pipes, Fine Small Watercolor This small 19th century watercolor, most likely from a French hand, depicts a country bagpipe player with cloak and hat, blowing into his bagpipe, a full-sized instrument with at least three pipes -- probably one chanter and two drones. The skilled, anonymous artist has captured something about this street musician, with just the right anount of color and detail. A fine little work, perhaps done from life. Dimensions of the paper sheet are about 8.25 inches by 6.25 inches. There is some paper toning and foxing and a light crease on the right, to the right of the player. Condition is otherwise good. A lovely acquisition, and I'm starting it off at a modest price point. Shipping within the U.S. will be $6. And to see what else I have for sale, please click here.
