Description: Item Description: 'Leaves of Grass' with Autobiography by Walt Whitman. Copyright 1900 by David McKay, Philadelphia/USA. Hardcover, 516 pages. This original hardcover book measures APPROXIMATELY 6" x 8.25" Condition notes: In 'acceptable' used condition, especially for a book of its age (120+ years old!). Spine and binding are still intact, despite some evidence of water damage on the top part of the front & back covers. There is still some gilding remaining on one edge of the pages (at the top). There is evidence of acidic/oxidation "burn-in" on the remaining two edges of the pages, and also inside the front & back covers (SEE PHOTOS). With the exception of a very small pencil mark on the first blank page inside, no other handwriting was observed. No missing or torn-out pages. The pages are 'flaking' and in fragile condition, and should be handled with care to arrest the current state of deterioration. ** Please note that we are NOT book experts and are describing this book to the best of our ability.
