Listed Artist Henry Koehler Antique / Vtg Pastel Painting Frozen Lake Landscape

Description: Listed Artist Henry Koehler Signed Scenic Pastel is in wonderful condition for its age. This beautiful pastel/chalk painting seems to be in its original frame with a beige matting. It is an excellent piece with extreme skilled use of pastel to capture the exacting details. It is not dated, but I believe it is a piece from the 30s or 40s, possibly earlier- it has such a turn of the century look to it! My favorite part personally is the thin lines across the lake ice, showing evidence of skaters past. The piece is signed in the lower left-hand corner HR Koehler. Henry Koehler was a well listed artist with many of his paintings selling for thousands of dollars. The painting seems to be behind wavy antique/ vintage glass and in its original frame. Frame has had some repairs previously see photos. The design & classic American scene is excellent for many rooms and a large variety of decor styles. It makes this an excellent staple piece for your collection, one your friends definitely won’t have! A great collectors item, for use display gifting or decor It is in good condition, with no major damage. It has some spotting inside the glass, however I believe 99% of the dotting is on the glass itself, not the work, and cleaning it would drastically improve appearance. I have not taken it apart or out of the frame at all to avoid damage. Has some staining on the matting, could be re done. Frame has had vintage repairs, could be reframed but I do believe it’s the original and those were sometimes made by the artist. Thank you for your consideration, reasonable offers always considered.
