Description: Biennial Reports of the Board of Regents of the Washington Agricultural College and School of Science. Individual biennial volumes (1898-1914) overseen by various State Printers, in Olympia, Washington. No date given for this hardcover volume that holds those nine separate printings. Green buckram over boards, gilt lettering on spine; over 250 pages total; volume dimensions approx. 9” x 6”. The original school that became Washington State University was founded in 1890, in Pullman, Washington as the “Agricultural College, Experiment Station, and School of Science of the State of Washington,” and first opened for students in 1892. It was renamed State College of Washington (aka WSC in 1905) and became Washington State University (WSU) in 1959. This volume gives considerable historical information on the developement of the school and connected experimental stations, an overview of projects and experiments, names of many instructors, regents, and other involved persons, matriculation data, agriculture in Washington during that period, and much more. Condition is “very good”: boards and spine are straight and square; gilt is still very clear; binding is solid, with everything securely intact; no marks in or out; very slight external discoloration, but not bad; yellowing and darkening of pages, of course. Listing pics show the awkward manner of binding the original nine biennials into this one volume. Careful wrapping and fast shipping. Please look around the store. Lots of books & other media, quilt & cross stitch patterns, car mags & catalogs, home décor, and many more treasures-- and more listed every day.
