These gears will fix the problem that plagues these tractors. These gears will work for many different types of traveling sprinklers as they all use the same gear box, this includes:- Orbit traveling sprinklers- Nelson rain train traveling sprinklers- John Deere traveling sprinklers- Many others Generally, gears 1 & 2 are the first two gears to break. You are buying gears 1 & 2 with the option of adding gears 3, 4, and 5. These gears are NOT the original nylon gears that come with these tractors. The gears that you are buying are 3D printed using a tough PLA filament that is stronger and more rigid than nylon plastic. These gears are not stock parts but are designed and manufactured to work like the original parts. The reason the original gears strip out is because they are put under too heavy of a load (pulling too much heavy hose). The worm gear that connects to the T arms strips out gear 1 and you will notice clicking sound every time the T arms spin around and slip on gear 1. For these replacement gears to last, I would suggest not letting the tractor pull more than about 20 feet of hose. I made these gears because I was tired of buying new tractors (and gear boxes) every year. I have had good success with the 4 tractors that run all day on my lawn (as long as I keep the hose pulling to about 20 feet). From my bench tests, where I force the T arms to spin and hold the wheels from turning, the original nylon gears always fail before the PLA gears. However, these PLA gears will also fail if put under too much stress. So, keep the hose short and light and your tractor will travel for long time.
