Prior to being organized as an evacuation battalion, it had been responsible for supply, maintenance, planning and organization of clearing and holding facilities as well as evacuation support. It was located at LONG BINH. Reverted to a conventional medical battalion on 10-June-1971, this unit stood down in Vietnam on 25-May-1972.
