THE JAPANNED FINISH IS WORN ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE BAIL WHERE IT WILL NOT SHOW WHEN BEING WORN. NONE OF THE WEAR DETRACTS FROM THE BEAUTY OF THE PIECE.
