Vintage 1950's Electro Voice 630 dynamic microphone w stand display prop # 5

Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a classic older general purpose microphone made by Electro Voice in the 1950's. This is the earlier 2nd generation 630 that has the polished chrome housing and looks absolutely gorgeous but it no longer works and should be used for display, prop or repair purposes only. It comes with the newer model stand shown however in which to display. Pic # 2 shows this very model in an old E.V catalog I have showing the mics basic characteristics. Pic # 3 shows Jerry Lee Lewis using one of these very mics. Probably used an E.V 630 singing Great balls of Fire at some point in his career. This mic was typically used for dispatch and broadcasting purposes but was even used for singing for live events as seen in pic # 3. The photo is of Jerry Lee Lewis. The mic housing / head is reminiscent of the jet engines being used by several American and Soviet fight planes of the 1940's and 50's. The look was very popular but by the 1960's the look was dated and just not as popular as the earlier models were. Despite the non-working status of this mic it is 100% complete inside and out. The 70 + year old microphone has almost no wear as you can see in pictures and one of the finest examples I have ever personally seen. The threads for the cable and stand are perfect with zero stripping. The E.V label looks excellent and completely legible. Overall this piece is an easy 9 on a scale of 1 - 10. The joint mechanism works fine with plenty of tension. The on / off switch works great as well. Just needs a replacement element. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS PART OF THIS SALE... The mic comes with a newer and very nice desk stand. This model is a Chinese make most likely but it's very high quality being a painted all metal design with a rubber bezel to act as a pad. The stand shows the same amount of wear which is almost none. Please let the detailed pics be your guide. Stand with mic is appx 11 inches tall X 5 1/4 inches wide. Mic will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have if you don't like the desk stand provided. This will make a great display piece anywhere it sits in the home, studio or office and will make a great award for anything music or broadcast related. As with all my vintage microphones for sale...
