THE CLOCK AND WATCH STORE Click images to enlarge Description Maker: Monarch Watch Company c.1950 Model: Barr Brothers Reference No. 1074 Condition: This listing is for a vintage men's automatic wristwatch sold by the Barr Brothers and made by Monarch Watch Company. It has a 17 jewel Felsa 690 Bidynator automatic winding mechanical movement with a beautiful, original silver split second military style dial with radium arabic numbers and a blued finished radium handset all housed in the original nickel plated case. This watch has not been serviced in quite sometime and has been sitting in a parts box for at least the last 30 years. The original acrylic crystal is moderately scratched and has a crack near the 12 position. The watch is running and keeping time however, it is being sold as a non-running watch due to the unknown. I only state it is running so you know that the balance staff is good and the mechanics are functioning. It winds and sets smoothly. The nickel plated case has the desirable twisted lug pattern but it is heavily scratched and has loss to the nickel plating. The band is a very old replacement probably from the late 60's and it is missing its buckle. Fantastic military style wristwatch with a great movement that will take very little to get it back on the wrist again. I take great care in packaging all the items being sold but, I especially take extra precautions when packing clocks. I do everything I can to prevent your clock arriving damaged.
